Michael Hvisdos leads a workshop on “Business Curiosity”. Children are naturally curious, so much so that when they’re as young as four — about 300-400 questions each day. However, by middle school that number is close to zero. Why? We often lecture and “push information” to them, instead of leading them to places where they have to ask. Similarly, business has done an excellent job, with programs like Lean Six Sigma, to squeeze cost out and become more efficient, but are we less effective?
